The Wright Brothers "In Flight"

We invite you to come along as Kellam Road Trips takes a day to experience a step back in time as we travel down some back roads in Indiana & make our way to Dayton, Ohio.

To start the day, we will take a scenic drive through Indiana and pass by the birthplace farm of Wilbur Wright located near Millville, IN.

Our next stop will be Carillon Historical Park, a 65 acre complex, in Dayton, Ohio. Here you will explore inside & out, at your leisure, including Early Settlement Area, Wright Brothers Aviation Center housing the original 1905 Wright Flyer 3 practical airplane, a replica Wright bicycle shop, The Print Shop, The Transportation Center featuring the 1835 B & O Locomotive and much more.

While at Carillon Park you will enjoy lunch (on your own) at Culp's Cafe or Carillon Brewing Co.

Your visit here also includes a tour of the Wright brothers mansion known as Hawthorn Hill.

A special shuttle will drive you to the beautiful residence for an inside & outside tour of the grounds.

Before leaving Dayton, we'll all board the motorcoach and take a short drive to Huffman Prairie Flying Field. This hidden gem is the original 84 acre pasture where the Wright Brothers developed & flew the world's 1st practical airplane. Here you can get out & walk around and imagine what it was like back then.

A comfort / shopping stop will be made at the Warm Glow Candle Company along I-70

where you can relax with a cup of coffee, shop in their sprawling store & purchase your favorite candle made right here in Indiana along with many other items.

You are in for a treat as we travel to Indianapolis & have dinner at the famous Hollyhock Hill restaurant.

This classic landmark, which opened in 1928, will serve an Indiana Pan Fried Chicken Dinner family style with all the trimmings. It is truly a "dining experience".

a continental breakfast enroute, all admission tickets and dinner at Hollyhock Hill.

CANCELLATION POLICY:

In the event of an emergency that would prevent you from going on the trip, we will try to refund as much as possible, depending on reservation policies of suppliers. Kellam Road Trips cannot guarantee any refunds after 15 days prior to a day trip and 30 days prior to an extended trip, unless a replacement can be found. If Kellam Road Trips cancels the trip, you will get a full refund.
